Rob Milstead, President., – Like Rich, Rob spent many summers helping out in his dad’s battery business. An avid go-kart racer, he used his earnings to build and race high performance vehicles. Rob ranked in the top 5 percent in nationwide mechanical aptitude tests. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s in management, Rob held management positions with Firestone Tire and Joske’s of Texas before joining Texford as vice president of sales in 1990. He has completed training in NiCad battery assembly and testing and UPS service and repair.
Rich Dressendorfer, General Manager (Retired)–Rich began working in the battery business as a youngster, loading and unloading route trucks, and repairing and rebuilding batteries in his stepfather’s business. Before graduating from Southern Illinois University, he worked summers for Staub Battery Company in Springfield, Illinois, where he learned the business of battery manufacturing. After serving in the U.S. Army, Rich joined Southland Battery (later acquired by Batteries Unlimited) in Dallas and Houston as a route salesman. Rich joined Texford in 1970.
Bob Milstead, President(Deceased) – Bob joined Texford in 1966 as vice president of sales and co-owner. In 1973, he bought the company’s remaining assets and was named president. Prior to joining Texford, Bob worked for ten years as a sales rep and regional sales manager with Automatic Retailers, Automatic Canteen, Ruberoid Company and WKM, then, a division of New York City-based ACF Industries. A U.S. Army veteran, Bob holds a BBA in industrial management from the University of Texas.
